New Block Paving Driveway in Lymm

Admittedly, at Planet Surfacing, we don’t often do block paving driveways anymore as many clients opt for pattern imprinted concrete or resin bound aggregate. However, block paving is still a brilliant material to use for a driveway as it is hard wearing and is perfectly suited to coping with cars driving over it, and over the years we have had plenty of experience installing them.

For their new block paving driveway in Lymm our clients chose to have it laid in Heather Tobermore Shannon Duo. Tobermore is widely recognised as one of the best manufacturers of paving – at Planet Surfacing we only use quality products!

To define the edge of the driveway and highlight the shape as it widened out at the top we included a double border of grey paving blocks, one soldier course and one stretcher course. You can see what this looked like from the photographs included. The striking new driveway contrasted with the lawn that it ran alongside, while perfectly complimenting the external appearance of the house.

The new block paving driveway in Lymm was completed by applying kiln dried sand which was brushed into the joints and then wackered down into place.

Once installed the paving blocks will remain the same colour and unlike pattern imprinted concrete will not require any further treatments, all you need to do is keep the block paving clean by brushing it over with soap and water should any marks or stains appear.
