New Block Paving Driveway in Winsford

It might be wet but there’s a bit of Sorrento with a Block Paving Driveway in Winsford Installed!

If it’s cold and wet outside the temptation is to stay inside where it’s warm and dry, but that’s not what we do at Planet Surfacing. When we get the wet weather, we do wet weather things like laying a stunning new driveway in Winsford!

While there are certain types of materials that you can’t install when it’s wet such as pattern imprinted concrete, using block paving is not a problem, and that’s what our clients chose to use to create their new driveway in Winsford, so even when it was raining, we could get on with the project.

They wanted to bring a little bit of the Italian sunshine to a little part of the northwest of England! Well not literally, but they wanted to use Sorrento tumbled block paving in granite grey. A block paving driveway in Winsford is a great choice because it is incredibly hardwearing, in fact it can withstand the pressure of an aeroplane which is why it’s a common material used for runways.

For the new driveway in Winsford we used Plasmor Plaspav Sorrento Tumbled Block paving. These are available in three sizes of fettled tumbled setts that ensure that when laying them, a random pattern is achieved. This makes for a more natural effect while also giving the block paving driveway in Winsford character and individuality.

We also included a double charcoal boarder which nicely framed the driveway defining its shape. We used one line of bricks length ways and one width ways. You can see what this looks like from some of the photographs included. The charcoal colour of the blocks used for the border perfectly complimented the granite blocks, picking out some of the darker shades in them.

We added a double KL kerb step. We also used a kerb to cover the high footing of the bay window and back filled it with gravel. To complete the block paving driveway in Winsford it was all brushed in with kiln dried sand just before the rain come a very close call. You an see the completed driveway from the photographs. Our clients were thrilled with the results. Despite the fact that this driveway was sloping this did not create any problems for us as we have years of experience laying driveways on all kinds of surfaces.
