New Concrete Driveway & Patio in Didsbury
Fashions change regularly, and some items or types of clothing can be “on trend,” but did you know that some patterns created for pattern imprinted concrete can be “on trend” too. Take for example the latest craze for wood effect concrete. It’s longer lasting than real wood, it does not get slippery like decking can do when wet, and it requires a lot less maintenance than real wood and decking.
Planet Surfacing recently installed a new driveway in Didsbury and while completing that job we also laid a new patio in Didsbury at the same house using wood effect concrete. This is the sort of project that we love at Planet Surfacing as it was fully bespoke and designed specifically for the customer.
The front driveway was coloured in platinum and printed in Ashlar cut stone. This covered the full expanse of the front of the house. As an additional feature and to add interest we marked out and printed a path to the front door. We also acid stained the edging to make it really stand out. You can see the effect and how we added definition from the rest of the driveway from some of the pictures included. We then incorporated a pin wheel design to a section of the driveway and it was all finished off using a high gloss seal.
For the back patio the customer wanted a decking effect area outside both patio doors and for the rest of the area at the back of the house to be printed in Ashlar. The wood plank was coloured cream with platinum release and the Ashlar was coloured in Steadman buff with mahogany release. Using the two different patterns and colours meant that clear living areas that had different purposes were defined and sectioned off which made the space at the back of the house more interesting.
The job was not only a pleasure to do and resulted in a stunning driveway and patio area, but our customers were really pleased with the results too! Because of the originality of the project, It has resulted in Planet Surfacing getting a lot more jobs, with customers either requesting a new driveway in Didsbury or a new patio in Didsbury. This particular project has also generated a lot of interest in the wood effect concrete which is becoming increasingly popular!
