From Tired to Trendy with a New Driveway in Bramhall!

A beautiful new driveway can transform the outside space of any home. It can also create a more practical area for parking and manoeuvring your car safely when entering and exiting your home.

Planet Surfacing recently laid a brand-new tarmac driveway across the front and down the side of a house providing access to the front door and garage.

To create the tarmac driveway, the first stage of the project was the full excavation and removal of the existing driveway. Planet Surfacing has all the equipment and machinery on hand to carry out this kind of work safely and effectively. We will dispose of all unwanted rubble and turf etc, so you don’t have to worry about what to do with the remains of your old driveway.

Once this part of the process had been completed and the area for the new driveway in Bramhall had been cleared, we then defined the shape of the driveway by inserting Tobermore Shannon Duo block paving in slate colour. These were placed along the edges of the new driveway in Bramhall perfectly framing it. They also created a nice trim along the edge of the house between the tarmac and the brick. As part of this stage, we also added a new ground light and we again used the Tobermore Shannon duo blocks in a decorative pattern around the light, creating a pretty feature.

We also added a half moon step at the front and a square Indian stone one at the side.

Before laying the tarmac, we created a stable base for it by spreading a layer of aggregate across it and then put a layer of tarmac with a 6mm topping over it. You can see from the photographs how the slate grey bricks were a perfect compliment to the black tarmac.
