Is it true that tarmac can melt?
During the hot season (yes, we’re aware it’s winter!) each year, it is always a nice time to relax with friends and family, because everyone is usually in high and happy spirits. We all know how to counteract a hot sweat because that’s typically the biggest problem during these times, but what we really should be worried about is if the roads and in particular, our driveways and patios, can resist the heat enough. The answer is varied, but during the summer of 2013, we received an immense heat wave and the highest recorded temperature in Britain to date; over 30 degrees!
Although its winter now, there’s no harm in being at the start of the race and being pre-emptive is always a solid option. A portion of the M25 in July 2013 partially melted due to the blistering heat and one of the lanes had to be closed off, but what about if you had a tarmac drive? Sure, it would be great during winter because it’s just for your car(s) to park on. When someone gets their driveway or patio done, they expect a very professional job and a long-term one as well, you never know about summer 2013, your tarmac driveways actually have the potential to melt so act before it might happen.
Concrete paving & surfacing and imprinted concrete driveways are excellent options, because not only are they able to survive extreme temperatures since they are 100% natural, they also look very nice too. Imprinted concrete is a personal favourite of ours and is chosen quite often since you can have any colours and specs that you want – it’s all up to you!
