One of Planet Surfacing’s favourite projects was the installation of a new driveway in Wythenshawe, Manchester as it involved using quite a few different skills and expertise to transform the outside space.

Our clients wanted to have a driveway that matched the colour of the brickwork on their house. As there are so many colour and pattern options to choose from for pattern imprinted concrete driveways in Wythenshawe, Manchester, they were able to find a combination that perfectly suited their requirements.

They opted for brick red for the colour and Ashlar for the pattern. It was finished off with a running brick bond pattern in yellow for the border. As you can see from the photographs this linked nicely with the colour of the bricks on the house tying everything together.

Part of this involved digging up the plants and lawn. It’s important that the area is properly prepared before any concrete can be poured. It must be excavated to a satisfactory depth. Once this was achieved, we then added a layer of hardcore and then poured the concrete over. We were able to accommodate our clients request for an inserted border.

We also extended the 8ft perimeter wall that was down the side of the property. We were able to match the existing bricks to the new ones so you couldn’t tell where the new wall started. In addition, we fitted a 7ft vertical board fence between our clients and their neighbour. A few disguised manhole covers were also added and ACO drains to make the new driveway in Wythenshawe, Manchester SUDS compliant. The driveway was then sealed in a mid-sheen seal with anti-skid agent.
